Paris Saint-Germain are through to the 2025 UEFA Champions League final after outclassing Arsenal over two legs, setting up a titanic clash with Inter Milan in Munich.

PSG Ends Arsenal’s European Run to Secure Champions League Final Spot

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have punched their ticket to the UEFA Champions League final after a dominant 2-1 win against Arsenal in the semi-final second leg, completing a 3-1 aggregate triumph at the Parc des Princes.

Carrying a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg in London, Luis Enrique’s side came into the return leg brimming with intensity and confidence. That drive paid off just before the half-hour mark when Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz slotted home a well-timed strike to double PSG’s aggregate lead and ignite the home crowd.

Arsenal, despite their composed defensive showing in the first leg, couldn’t hold back PSG’s momentum. The pressure mounted in the second half, and in the 72nd minute, Achraf Hakimi delivered a clinical finish after cutting inside from the right flank, sending the French side into a commanding position.

Although Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal a glimmer of hope just four minutes later with a composed goal to make it 2-1 on the night, PSG’s experience and discipline saw them through the final stages. The Gunners pressed forward but lacked the final touch needed to overturn the deficit.

Luis Enrique praised his squad post-match, stating, “The players showed character, composure, and belief. This is a step closer to our dream.”

For Arsenal, it was a bitter ending to a promising European campaign. Mikel Arteta’s team showed spirit but ultimately fell short against one of Europe’s most star-studded lineups.

With this result, PSG will now face Inter Milan in what is expected to be a gripping Champions League final on May 31 at the iconic Allianz Arena in Munich. The stage is set for a potential historic night as PSG chase their elusive first Champions League crown.

In a bold May Day move, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced an increase in the minimum wage to ₦75,000, reinforcing his administration’s focus on worker welfare and economic upliftment.

  • Edo workers’ minimum wage raised to ₦75,000, highest among Nigerian states.

  • Okpebholo reveals employment of new teachers, healthcare staff, and regularization of casual workers.

  • Retirees to receive health insurance, and judiciary appointments have been fully regularized.

A May Day to Remember in Edo State

Edo State workers got more than just words of appreciation this May 1st. Governor Monday Okpebholo used the Workers’ Day celebration to announce a wage increase that’s making headlines across Nigeria.

Speaking at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the governor declared a ₦5,000 raise, bumping the state’s minimum wage from ₦70,000 to ₦75,000 per month.

“Today, I am proud to announce that our administration has approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 per month for Edo workers,” Okpebholo said, drawing applause from the crowd.

More Than Just a Pay Raise

But the announcement didn’t stop at salaries. The governor detailed several other worker-focused initiatives.

Upon taking office, his administration converted over 1,000 casual cleaners into full-time civil servants, offering them job security and peace of mind.

“Since assuming office, my administration has remained fully committed to the welfare of our workers,” he said.

To improve education, 500 new teachers were recruited, and the government is currently reviewing the employment status of over 3,000 additional educators for potential full integration.

Boosting Health and Judiciary Sectors

In the health sector, 450 clinical and non-clinical workers were hired, while 126 contract staff at the Edo State Specialist Hospital were regularized.

“These steps not only strengthen our health system but also improve job stability for health professionals,” Okpebholo explained.

Meanwhile, in the judiciary, judges whose appointments had been stalled were finally sworn in, ensuring a more effective justice delivery system.

Caring Beyond Retirement

Perhaps one of the most impactful announcements was the introduction of health insurance coverage for retirees.

“To show our commitment doesn’t end at retirement, we have approved health insurance coverage for our retirees,” the governor said. “We believe that our responsibility to workers doesn’t end when they leave active service.”

Edo’s recent wage hike places it among the states offering the highest minimum wage in Nigeria, sending a clear message about the governor’s priorities.

As the state marks May Day, workers now have more than just hope they have tangible gains.

As Nigeria welcomes a new month, nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has set social media abuzz, not with celebration, but with a powerful caution to celebrities and business moguls over their spending habits.

  • Cubana Chief Priest warns famous personalities to stop spraying money at public events amid EFCC clampdown.

  • He reveals he “nearly went to jail” in 2023, urging others to avoid similar legal trouble.

  • The caution comes shortly after E-Money was reportedly questioned by EFCC over naira abuse.

While May 1st usually ushers in cheerful wishes across Nigeria, Cubana Chief Priest real name Pascal Okechukwu—chose to deliver a different kind of message.

In a direct Instagram post that quickly caught fire online, the popular nightlife figure advised celebrities and known business personalities to avoid spraying money in public, saying the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is no longer taking such acts lightly.

“If you are famous, if you are a well-known businessman with address, please don’t spray money. EFCC are not joking on this,” he wrote.

The warning wasn’t abstract. Chief Priest openly shared his personal brush with the law:

“Me I no go ever spray again whether dollar, euro, Naira or pounds,” he stated, recalling how he “nearly go jail last year.”

Celebs Under Scrutiny

His statement follows fresh reports that E-Money, another high-profile socialite and businessman, was recently summoned by the EFCC regarding allegations tied to naira abuse further spotlighting what has been a long-standing yet culturally embedded practice in Nigeria.

Known locally as a symbol of celebration, spraying money especially at weddings, parties, and concerts has often gone unchecked. However, the EFCC has renewed its stance, emphasizing that abusing the naira is a criminal offense punishable under Nigerian law.

No More “Cash in the Air”

Cubana Chief Priest’s advice is clear: adapt or face the consequences.

“If you already have an invitation letter from the EFCC, please go and honor it… If you spray money, EFCC must come for you.”

Instead of flaunting wealth through currency showers, he suggests there are other ways to entertain and impress at events—without inviting legal drama.

“I’m now focusing on another type of doings,” he added, hinting at a shift in how he plans to “shut down” occasions.

With rising enforcement and growing awareness, Cubana Chief Priest’s message may be the clearest sign yet that the era of unchecked money-spraying is fading fast in Nigeria’s celebrity scene.

Nigerian music legend Eedris Abdulkareem has sparked a heated conversation nationwide after the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) banned his latest protest song, ‘Tell Your Papa’, labeling it “Not To Be Broadcast.” The rapper says the move is a direct attack on truth and free speech.

In a bold response shared via his official Instagram account, veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem accused the Nigerian government and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) of censorship after his newly released protest song, Tell Your Papa, was banned from airplay.

According to a memo dated April 9, 2025, the NBC said the song violated Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which prohibits materials considered “objectionable.”

“This is just another attempt to silence the truth,” Abdulkareem wrote. “It’s obvious that in Nigeria, truth and constructive criticism is always deemed a big crime by the government.”

Abdulkareem didn’t hold back in his criticism. He related the current situation to the 2004 ban of his iconic protest track Jaga Jaga during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration.

He questioned the country’s democratic progress, calling out the present administration led by President Bola Tinubu for allegedly being intolerant of dissenting voices.

“This present government led by President Bola Tinubu is now going on record as one of the most insensitive, vindictive and grossly maleficent administration ever to preside over the affairs of Nigeria,” he stated.

The rapper insisted that music has always been his weapon of truth, and this ban only strengthens his resolve to speak out.

“They are instructing broadcast houses to shield the government by hiding the candle under the table,” he said. “Any wonder why Nigeria hasn’t made impactful strides all these years? The conscience is an open wound, only the truth can heal it. Aluta Continua!”

Abdulkareem’s message has reignited debate over freedom of expression in Nigeria, especially when it comes to artists and activists using their platforms to call out social injustice.

What are your thoughts on the NBC’s ban of Eedris Abdulkareem’s song? Is this censorship or a justified regulatory action? Join the conversation below and let your voice be heard.

Afrobeats singer Davido is under legal fire in the U.S. after being accused of stealing a song to produce his 2024 track, Strawberry on Ice. The Manhattan District Court has given him 21 days to respond to the copyright lawsuit.

On April 4, 2025, the United States District Court in Manhattan hit Nigerian music icon David ‘Davido’ Adeleke with a 21-day deadline to respond to a copyright infringement lawsuit. The suit, filed by four Nigerian artists are Martins Chukwuka Emmanuel, Abel Great Umaru, Kelvin Ayodele Campbell, and David Ovhioghena Umaru claims Davido stole their 2022 song to create his 2024 release Strawberry on Ice.

According to court documents, the plaintiffs initially sent the track to Davido in January 2022 in hopes of securing a collaboration. However, instead of collaborating, they allege the artist handed the song over to Sierra Leonean singer Emmerson Amidu Bockarie, who sampled both vocals and instrumentals to produce Strawberry on Ice.

The plaintiffs claim that no permission was granted and no credits were given. This led to multiple attempts at a private settlement which reportedly ended with Davido agreeing to pay $45,000 and grant the group 40% of the song’s composition royalties and 20% of its recording royalties.

Despite the agreement made on March 14, 2025, the plaintiffs say Davido missed the March 24 deadline to fulfill his part of the deal. With no payment or royalty arrangements honored, the artists moved forward with a full-blown lawsuit.

They are now demanding:

  • $150,000 in damages
  • 40% copyright ownership of the Strawberry on Ice composition
  • 20% ownership of its sound recording rights
  • A court order preventing Davido and his team from using the track or infringing on any of their future works.

The lawsuit doesn’t stop at Davido. It also includes:

  • Sierra Leonean artist Emmerson
  • Carlos Jenkins
  • Matthew Quinney
  • Marques Miles II
  • Wynn Records, the label behind the release of Strawberry on Ice

As of April 10, Davido has not made any public comment or legal response to the suit, leaving fans and the music industry hanging. With the clock ticking on his 21-day deadline, all eyes are now on what move the Afrobeats superstar will make next.

The lawsuit could potentially shake up the international Afrobeats scene if the court rules in favor of the plaintiffs. Until then, fans are left wondering: will Davido settle, fight, or stay silent?

Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has made a bold statement about her relationship with music executive Paulo Okoye — and it’s not what fans were expecting!

In a surprising revelation, popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has confirmed that marriage is off the table in her relationship with renowned music executive Paul Okoye, widely known as Paulo. Speaking on TVC’s Your View, Ojo clarified that while they’re in a loving relationship, neither of them is aiming for marriage.

“We don’t want marriage,” she said bluntly, leaving fans both shocked and intrigued.

Iyabo, a mother of two, explained the arrangement that works perfectly for her and Paulo. Describing both herself and her partner as “workaholics,” she emphasized the importance of personal space in their relationship.

“Because of the way I work, I am such a workaholic, and he is also a workaholic. That Igbo man likes to work,” she said with a laugh. “There are times when I want to be alone, and I just pack my bags and return to my house. We never fight over that because he understands.”

The actress went public with her relationship with Paulo in December 2022 on her 45th birthday, sharing a romantic video montage of their moments together. While fans anticipated a wedding announcement, Iyabo’s recent statement flips the script on celebrity relationship expectations.

She stressed that the foundation of their relationship is mutual respect and understanding—not traditional commitments.

Interestingly, Paulo himself has joked about the relationship dynamics. In a past interview, he teased that Iyabo had “invaded his space” and jokingly said she had “snatched” him from his “numerous side chics.”

Despite the playful banter, their relationship seems to be rooted in clear boundaries and genuine affection—just without the wedding bells.

What do you think about a love that skips marriage entirely? Is it the future of modern relationships or a recipe for disaster? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

When it comes to traveling, one of the biggest challenges is deciding what to bring. Whether you’re heading to a tropical beach or exploring a city for a week, it’s easy to overpack.

However, packing light is not only convenient, but it can also save you time, money, and stress. If you’ve ever struggled with a heavy suitcase, you know that hauling a big bag around can be exhausting. The good news is that with some smart packing light tips, you can pack efficiently for a 7-day trip.

1. Make a Packing List

The first step to packing light is creating a packing list. This will help you stay organized and avoid throwing in unnecessary items. Break down your list into categories like clothing, toiletries, electronics, and accessories. When you start to pack, only add items you absolutely need. A good rule of thumb is to pack for versatility. Think about clothing items that can be mixed and matched. Also, check the weather forecast at your destination to avoid packing things you won’t need, like winter coats during a summer trip.

2. Choose Clothing Wisely

Clothing tends to take up a lot of space in your suitcase, but with a little planning, you can cut down on how much you need. Here are some simple tips for packing clothes:

  • Stick to a Color Palette: Choose a color scheme so you can mix and match your clothes. Neutral colors like black, white, grey, and navy blue go with almost everything. You can add a pop of color with accessories like scarves or jewelry.
  • Pack Multi-purpose Items: Bring clothes that serve more than one purpose. For example, a cardigan can be worn over a dress or paired with jeans. A pair of black pants can work for both casual outings and dressier dinners.
  • Limit Shoes: Shoes take up a lot of room in your suitcase. Try to limit yourself to just two or three pairs. A comfortable pair of walking shoes, flip-flops (if you’re heading to the beach), and one dressier pair should be enough for most trips.
  • Roll, Don’t Fold: Rolling your clothes instead of folding them not only saves space, but it also helps prevent wrinkles.

3. Pack Travel-Sized Toiletries

Toiletries can add a lot of extra weight and bulk to your luggage, especially when you bring full-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Instead, pack travel-sized versions of your toiletries. You can find travel-sized bottles at most stores or purchase reusable travel containers. If your accommodation provides toiletries, skip bringing those items altogether.

  • Use Solid Toiletries: Consider switching to solid versions of toiletries like shampoo bars, soap, and toothpaste. These take up much less space and are often lighter than their liquid counterparts.
  • Stick to the Essentials: Pack only the toiletries you use every day. You can always buy any extras you may need once you arrive at your destination.

4. Limit Electronics and Accessories

While it’s tempting to bring all your gadgets and accessories, the key to packing light is to only bring what you truly need. Here’s what to keep in mind:

  • Use Your Phone for Everything: Your phone can serve as your camera, alarm clock, map, and entertainment device. Try to leave other gadgets like tablets and e-readers at home.
  • Don’t Overpack Accessories: Keep your accessories simple and practical. A lightweight scarf, a small purse, or a crossbody bag can be all you need. Avoid packing bulky items like large hats or heavy jewelry that you won’t wear every day.

5. Choose the Right Bag

The bag you choose is key to packing light. Instead of bringing a large suitcase, opt for a small carry-on bag or a backpack. These bags are compact, easy to carry, and help limit what you pack.

  • Invest in a Quality Bag: A good carry-on bag should be durable and comfortable. Look for one with multiple compartments to keep your items organized.
  • Use Packing Cubes: Packing cubes are small, lightweight organizers that help keep your clothes compact and wrinkle-free. You can use them to separate your clothes by type or by outfit.

6. Consider Laundry Options

If you’re staying at a place with laundry facilities, there’s no need to pack a full week’s worth of clothes. You can do a load of laundry halfway through your trip. If you’re not sure about laundry options, pack items that dry quickly and can be worn multiple times. For example, quick-drying fabrics like athletic wear are great for re-wearing and washing easily.

7. Don’t Forget the Essentials

Make sure you bring all the essentials, but don’t overdo it. You’ll need:

  • Travel Documents: Passport, tickets, reservation confirmations, and any other documents.
  • Money: Bring a mix of cash, credit cards, and travel money for emergencies.
  • Health Essentials: Any necessary medications and basic first-aid items, like pain relievers or band-aids.

8. Don’t Pack for Every Possible Situation

One of the biggest mistakes people make when packing is trying to be prepared for every possible scenario. It’s tempting to pack for all weather conditions or every activity you might do. However, you’ll likely find that most situations don’t require the extra clothing or gear. Focus on packing for the activities you know you’ll be doing, and leave the “just in case” items behind.

9. Leave Space for Souvenirs

If you plan to buy souvenirs during your trip, remember to leave some room in your bag for them. Packing too tightly means you might not have enough space for new items, and you may end up struggling to fit them in.

Conclusion

Packing light for a 7-day trip doesn’t have to be a stressful task. By following these packing light tips, you can enjoy the freedom of traveling with a small, manageable bag. Start with a packing list, choose versatile clothing, use travel-sized toiletries, and limit your electronics and accessories. By thinking ahead and packing only what you really need, you can have a stress-free and enjoyable trip.

With these packing light tips in mind, you’re all set to pack smart for your next adventure. Safe travels!
