Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has spoken openly about her long marriage to her husband, Matthew Ekeinde, revealing that divorce is not something she considers in her relationship.

The actress shared her thoughts during a conversation on the Afropolitan Podcast, where she reflected on their 30 years together and what has helped their marriage remain strong.

Omotola explained that trust has always been a key part of their relationship. According to her, she has never had to confront her husband about cheating.

“I’ve been married to him now 30 years. I’ve never fought over a girl, you know?. He doesn’t disturb me. If I have to go to my work, I go to my work. I come back. He trusts me totally. I trust him.”

She also spoke about the importance of couples sharing the same goals and understanding each other’s values. For her, marriage is deeply personal, and every relationship is different.

Omotola made it clear that while divorce may work for some people, it is not something she sees as an option in her own marriage.

“Divorce is not an option for me. It doesn’t mean it’s not an option for you. Let’s get that straight. I’m not against divorce. I just always believe that marriage is a very personal thing. My marriage can never be the same thing as your marriage. No two marriages are the same because no two persons are the same.”

She added that different couples face different challenges. Some may struggle with broken trust and the effort needed to rebuild it.

“You might be dealing with someone that has broken your trust and you’re trying to build that back. So those things are different… For me, how do you want to penetrate? It’s going to be very hard because I know this person. I’ve been with this person for 30 years, since I was 18,” she added.

The actress and her husband have often been seen as one of the most enduring couples in the Nigerian entertainment space, with many fans praising their long-standing union.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s comments offer a glimpse into the values that have shaped her three-decade marriage. For her, trust, understanding, and shared goals have played a key role in keeping the relationship strong.

While she acknowledges that every marriage is different, the Nollywood star says her commitment to her husband remains firm after 30 years together.

Eniola Badmus has threatened to take legal action after being accused on X of running a prostitution network involving young women, film executives, and politicians.

The Nollywood actress, who also serves as Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, reacted strongly to the allegation shared on Thursday by an X user identified as #Femzydr1.

In a post that quickly gained attention, the user claimed that the actress was acting as a private pimp within the Nigerian movie industry. He further alleged that she used her connections to link young girls with top directors, movie executives, and powerful politicians. The post also suggested that her political appointment was a reward for these alleged activities.

He wrote, “Popular Yoruba Actress Eniola Badmus is reportedly a private pimp in Nigeria and in the movie industry, linking young girls up with top directors, movie executives, and Nigerian politicians. She surely gained entry into the political scene through this network, and many young girls have been exploited & used for different purposes by politicians through her connections.

Badmus did not delay in responding. On her verified X account, she described the claims as false and warned that authorities would get involved.

“This is the attention you’ve been craving for, so let’s get into it. This is a false accusation and the authorities will step in. Let it be known that we do not forgive in this zone,” the actress wrote.

This is not the first time the actress has faced such claims.

In 2023, a TikTok user named Nwakaego Okoye made a viral video in which she labelled Badmus a “professional pimp.” She alleged that the actress connected young women, especially those who had undergone cosmetic surgery, to top politicians across Nigeria.

The matter led to her arrest and she was charged before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos. She was later sentenced to three years imprisonment, with an option of a N150,000 fine instead of jail time.

Following the latest controversy, the X user behind the fresh allegation has now apologised publicly.

“I sincerely apologize to Ms. Eniola Badmus, her family, friends, fans, and everyone affected by my recent tweet. The post accusing her of exploitation, linking young girls to movie and political figures, and pimping was wrong, irresponsible, and made without evidence. I deeply regret spreading such damaging and false information,” the user wrote.

Eniola Badmus has made it clear that she will not ignore what she describes as false and damaging claims. With the accuser already issuing a public apology, it remains to be seen whether further legal steps will follow.

For now, the actress appears determined to protect her name and reputation.

Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has spoken out amid the ongoing online debate about rape and social media backlash. The actor made it clear that when women say “stop raping women”, the only acceptable response is agreement.

Deyemi shared his thoughts on X after reposting a recent statement by singer Simi, who had been facing criticism over some old tweets.

The issue began after Simi said that almost every woman she knows has experienced sexual assault at some point in their lives. Her statement sparked intense reactions online. As the conversation grew, some users went back to posts she made in 2012.

Those resurfaced tweets led to further criticism, with some people questioning her position. In response, Simi defended herself. She said her old posts were being misunderstood and taken out of context.

She explained that the tweets were written in 2012 when she was 23 years old and helping her mother run a daycare. According to her, nothing she wrote was inappropriate or perverse.

Simi also made her stance clear again, saying: “I said stop raping women. I stand by it.”

Deyemi’s reaction appeared to support that position. By speaking up, he reinforced the view that calls to end rape should not be distracted by deflection or what some describe as “whataboutism.”

Deyemi Okanlawon, 44, is one of Nollywood’s well-known leading actors. He began his screen career in the early 2010s and has featured in major productions such as Omo Ghetto: The Saga, King of Boys, and Blood Sisters.

Deyemi Okanlawon’s comments add another voice to the wider discussion about sexual assault and online accountability. His message is simple and direct. When women call for rape to stop, the response should not be debate or distraction, but agreement.

As conversations around sexual violence continue online, public figures are likely to keep weighing in, shaping how the issue is discussed in the public space.

Reality TV star Tope Adenibuyan, better known as Teddy A, has shared how false claims that he abused his wife deeply affected him and his family.

Speaking on the WithChude Podcast, Teddy A said he was shocked when he first saw reports online accusing him of beating his wife, actress Bamike “Bambam.” The claims, which spread on social media, even alleged that he assaulted her while she was pregnant.

Teddy A said the day the story broke started like any other.

He said, “When they said I was beating my wife, which was a lot. I woke up, went downstairs, my wife was there, she was watching a movie, she was pregnant and laughing”.

He explained that he had no idea where the story came from. While his wife was at home watching a movie, his phone began buzzing with notifications.

“Then I checked my phone and saw my notifications going off. I was like, I didn’t drop any content that’s trending, what’s going on, what did I do, or what are they saying now? As I went through the comments, my wife became very emotional and kept asking who did this. I honestly didn’t know, maybe it was one ex somewhere or village people trying to come after me”, he continued.

According to him, the sudden wave of accusations left both of them confused and upset. He said the rumor quickly gained attention online and became a topic of discussion across social media platforms.

Teddy A also spoke about how he handled the situation at the time. He revealed that when he reached out to his manager for advice, he was told not to respond publicly.

“I called my manager to ask what we should do, and he told me not to fuel the fire and just let it go. At the time, I didn’t really see the damage staying silent would do to my reputation. Even when my wife and I post ourselves, people still comment and ask if I’m sure I don’t beat my wife. Why would they say that? Why on earth would they do that? It affected me because it made people see me in a way that wasn’t true,” he added.

He said staying silent seemed like the right move at first, but he later realized that the claims continued to follow him. Even now, he says some people still question him whenever he shares photos or videos with his wife online.

The reality star did not name anyone behind the allegations but made it clear that the experience took an emotional toll on him.

Teddy A’s comments highlight the lasting impact false reports can have, especially when they spread quickly online. Although he chose to remain silent at the time, he now admits the rumors affected how some people see him.

For now, he and Bambam continue to share their lives publicly, even as the claims resurface from time to time.
