Popular Nigerian social media critic VeryDarkMan has issued a strong warning to human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, saying he would take legal action if his image is used without permission.

The warning follows recent comments by Sowore, who criticised the remand of B-Lord. Sowore described the detention as “not a victory” and cautioned against what he called the misuse of the legal system.

In response, VeryDarkMan delivered a heated reaction that quickly spread online. He made it clear that he would not tolerate the use of his image without consent, regardless of who is involved.

“If dem born you well, use my picture without my consent… I will lock you up. Put am for billboard, I go send you go prison,” he fired.

His statement signals a sharp rise in tensions between both figures. VeryDarkMan insisted the issue is about personal rights and legal boundaries, not activism or oppression.

The dispute is linked to a recent ruling by the Federal High Court, which ordered the remand of B-Lord in Kuje prison for 26 days. The case involves allegations of impersonation, identity theft, forgery and breach of privacy connected to VeryDarkMan.

Sowore had earlier called for restraint. He also asked his lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakar, to step away from the case, arguing that justice should not be reduced to punishment.

However, VeryDarkMan’s latest remarks suggest he is prepared to pursue the matter fully through legal means.

The clash between VeryDarkMan and Sowore highlights growing tensions around the B-Lord case and the broader debate on rights and justice. As the situation unfolds, more reactions and possible legal steps may follow.

Eniola Badmus has threatened to take legal action after being accused on X of running a prostitution network involving young women, film executives, and politicians.

The Nollywood actress, who also serves as Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, reacted strongly to the allegation shared on Thursday by an X user identified as #Femzydr1.

In a post that quickly gained attention, the user claimed that the actress was acting as a private pimp within the Nigerian movie industry. He further alleged that she used her connections to link young girls with top directors, movie executives, and powerful politicians. The post also suggested that her political appointment was a reward for these alleged activities.

He wrote, “Popular Yoruba Actress Eniola Badmus is reportedly a private pimp in Nigeria and in the movie industry, linking young girls up with top directors, movie executives, and Nigerian politicians. She surely gained entry into the political scene through this network, and many young girls have been exploited & used for different purposes by politicians through her connections.

Badmus did not delay in responding. On her verified X account, she described the claims as false and warned that authorities would get involved.

“This is the attention you’ve been craving for, so let’s get into it. This is a false accusation and the authorities will step in. Let it be known that we do not forgive in this zone,” the actress wrote.

This is not the first time the actress has faced such claims.

In 2023, a TikTok user named Nwakaego Okoye made a viral video in which she labelled Badmus a “professional pimp.” She alleged that the actress connected young women, especially those who had undergone cosmetic surgery, to top politicians across Nigeria.

The matter led to her arrest and she was charged before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos. She was later sentenced to three years imprisonment, with an option of a N150,000 fine instead of jail time.

Following the latest controversy, the X user behind the fresh allegation has now apologised publicly.

“I sincerely apologize to Ms. Eniola Badmus, her family, friends, fans, and everyone affected by my recent tweet. The post accusing her of exploitation, linking young girls to movie and political figures, and pimping was wrong, irresponsible, and made without evidence. I deeply regret spreading such damaging and false information,” the user wrote.

Eniola Badmus has made it clear that she will not ignore what she describes as false and damaging claims. With the accuser already issuing a public apology, it remains to be seen whether further legal steps will follow.

For now, the actress appears determined to protect her name and reputation.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi, whose real name is Simisola Kosoko, has spoken out after some of her old social media posts resurfaced online. The singer said the tweets were misunderstood and had nothing to do with any improper behaviour.

The issue began after Simi recently spoke against rape during online conversations linked to the Mirabel TikToker case, which has been widely discussed on social media. In her comments, she said men should stop raping women and that rapists should be castrated. She also stated that almost every woman she knows has experienced sexual assault. Her remarks sparked heated debates, with some users disagreeing with her stance.

Days later, critics on the X app began sharing tweets she posted years ago. On Sunday, Simi addressed the matter in a statement shared on her social media page. She explained that someone had brought the old tweets to her attention, and she felt the need to respond.

“I haven’t been on twitter today – but someone brought a few of my old tweets to my attention and I can’t not address it,” she wrote.

The singer clarified that the tweets were from 2012, long before she became widely known. At the time, she said she was living with her mother and helping out at her mother’s daycare centre while working hard to grow her music career.

“In 2012, I lived and helped out at my mom’s daycare while I was hustling my music. I tweeted everything that happened in my life, as we all did at the time,” she stated.

Simi explained that the posts were simple observations about the children at the daycare.

“Kids can be mischievous. If a child did something I found funny, I tweeted about it. Kids are cute and lovable. I want to hug, kiss and cuddle them. I tweet about it. Nothing I tweeted was from perversion,” she wrote.

She stressed that she would not allow anyone to twist her words to support what she described as false claims.

“What I can’t let anyone do is twist my story to fit false narratives,” she said.

Simi also revealed that some of the tweets had been deleted because of how sensitive the situation has become for her family.

“My team has been deleting some of my tweets because of how sensitive it is for my family. To be honest, I did not want to,” she added.

Reaffirming her position, the singer said her recent comments about rape reflect beliefs she has always held.

“I have always spoken against rape and sexual assault, even before you knew I existed. It’s not a costume I’m wearing, it’s who I am.

“I’ve never claimed to be perfect. I’ve never claimed to know everything. I said stop raping women. I stand by it,” she said.

The situation continues to stir conversations online, with many sharing different views about the meaning and intent behind her old posts.

Simi maintains that her past tweets were innocent and have been taken out of context. She has also made it clear that her stance against rape and sexual assault has not changed. As online discussions continue, the debate around her old posts and recent comments shows no sign of slowing down.
